Default Skunk2 + HG Query

Will Cometic headgasket make any difference (when same bore size and thickness) as OEM one for mods like:

Cams
Cam Gears
Throttle Body
Intake Manifold

Can't seem to find any headgasket for H22A which is thinner than 0.030" and can raise the comp...

Any help would be great!

if u slap on a cometic thats the same thickness then it will not make a differnece

if you want more comp, just pull out the middle layer of an oem gasket and you will be straight

honestly, all the trouble of putting in a thin headgasket is not even worth the slight bump in compression you will get.

Spoon used to make a one layer headgasket (basically stock with one layer) that will raise your compression about 0.3-0.5.

Stock HG is 3 layers however it's not recommended you just hack hack 2 layers away as then it might not seal. Best bet is to just mill the head because then if you ever remove your head again, your compression will still be there versus having to buy another high compression HG.

Not sure about the auto holding the power but then again, there are boosted and SC'ed auto cars out there with more torque than an NA car will ever hope to have so I'm guessing it's ok. Not sure though.

Btw, a guy out in Vancouver had an auto 5th gen built NA and when he decided to do a 5spd swap, he gained 20-25whp just by doing that.

yeah Spoon HG for H22A.. have been discontinued for a while now unless people know of a place where I can source one?

How much would I havta mil the head and with what?

Yeah I realise MT swap would probably be more ideal.. but extremely hard to find all the right parts... also need to be in good nick etc..
