Default question about traction bar for daily drive

hello all:

I had been collecting alot of info about traction bar for daily drive lately.... and brought up some questions that I hope there's people out there can answer them.

1. I read that some traction bar is not recommend on street drive. why is that exactly?

2. for what I read, seems like the helm joints are the weak point of the traction bar, what I mean weak point is that there's people out there bought extra protection or upgrade to aircraft metal to achieve corrosion resistant. Is it necessary? Coz it snow here in winter.

thanks
