Default Power Steering in 88 Accord

I did a quick search, and I didn't play around with it on my car, but it seems like I've been losing my power steering fluid...and lots of it. Just yesterday I poured it in pretty much full, and today I pop my hood and look and there's about barely an inch left in there. Dunno what's going on, doesn't seem to have a leak, but I still don't know. Never had this problem until recently so I'm just wondering if any of you guys could tell me what it might be or an easy way to solve this so I don't have to start taking stuff apart.

i'm willing to bet your rack is leaking or you have a pinhole in your high pressure line. track down your leak. that's the only real way to find it.

i agree with Vanilla sounds like steering rack leaks..i bet if u look under the car the dust boots for rack are broken thus allowing dust dirt water and other grime to get into shaft when you turn wheels all the stuff rubs against outer seals and ruptures them thats what leaks mostly on p/s racks ,,if it is the rack get a reman rack .........get a MAVAL ( MAVEL ) ?? very good racks if u want a shop to do job still buy the rack urself and it needs an alignment afterward

my 85 leaked PSF like no tomorrow. I tracked it down to the driverside steering ram, must have been a 0-ring seal. I never repaired it, just added Auto-tranny fluid up to the min line once a week and made sure when i parked the wheels were stright. (It would bleed out when parked if they were turned)

Thanks for the replies. I've left my wheels turned and noticed that it disappeared quicker so I leave them straight now. Gotta go and find the leak.

Bringing an old thread back but I'm pretty sure it's my steering rack that's leaking. It's leaking like ******* crazy, and it sucks. Is there anyway to fix it other than buying a new one?

bump.

I checked some prices and most are from like 250-400. I don't know if I should get a new rack or just keep pouring in the power steering fluid and keep saving for a new car.
