Ok im seeing some oil seeping from the top bolts on my exhaust manifold. I just replaced the headgasket, valve cover gasket, dizzy o ring, cam seals. I heard this is a sign of blowby but I dont see any smoke out the exhaust at all. This is getting very frusterating. The motor is a 1st gen b16a. What do you guys think? Im about to throw in the towel

 

I think you didnt do a very good job on the valvecover gasket.
Wipe it all off, start the car and watch for oil under the hood

 

i dont see any oil around the valve cover though, maybe im not looking close enough?

 

valvecover is right on top of your exhaust manifold
Where exactly are you seeing oil anyway

 

on top of the exhaust manifold above the bolts and then down some onto the manifold runners.

 

And its coming out as a liquid, right?
I still say check your valve cover. Maybe you didnt tighten down the bolts in the front at all. (dont over tq)

how did you torque down the head from the inside out i hope. if you didnt there could be a chance you warped the head and your not getting a good seal but that is usually the worst case scenario. other than that im stumped cause oil is definately not gonna be passing through your exhaust as liquid. is it coming out the left or right side or all over the front?

 

seems to be from the front. and yes i torqued to head down to spec, and replaced factory studs with ARP.

 

is there any way you could take a pic and post it.
