Jun chip was installed at shop without my consent...now car feels slugish!?
BAh! So my car was in the shop being worked on, getting a new o2 sensor and cat put in cuz im a noob...and i told them to go ahead and fix the idle and the redline cuz rev limit kicked in at 7500 instead of 8500 like its supposed to (94 B18C). So i get it back and am told to take it on a test drive. Before i head out they tell me they re-chipped the ecu with a "Jun program" because they were having problems with the stock setup and getting it to redline at 8500. So anywho i take it on the test drive...get it up to about 8000 in first gear and am ill impressed. VTEC kicks in now at around 4500 whereas it used to kick in at 5500. VTEC feels weak and lacks that "VTEC kick" i used to experience before the jun chip. They didnt even get my consent nor even ask me if i wanted my ecu re-chipped. Im just pissed off because my car feels slower now..maybe its just me because VTEC isnt as strong or loud..but i just wanted to get some input on what i should do about this.
Thanks.
Thanks.
It almost sounds like your secondary butterflies weren't opening before and now they are. I could be wrong, but I think the VTEC doesn't "Kick" as hard because your pre-vtec power has increased, so the vtec engagement isn't as noticeable.
yeah i dunno, i took it out on some back roads last night and it seems to be alot faster now with the chip in it..but i swear it felt slow right after i got the car back from the shop...anywho i guess ill just leave the chip in and start upgrading cams and such. Thanks for the input.

Wait, you took it to a shop and ASKED THEM TO MODIFY THE PARAMETERS OF YOUR CHIP and somehow "never gave consent"... yeah, ok...
