Default I need help with my 90 Civic dx

I have a few problems with my car. I just bought it from a friend and so far I replaced a few parts but I am still having problems with my ac. It makes a loud sqeeking noise whenever I turn it on. I asked around and they said that its the bearing in the compressor......another problem I am having is that my car sometimes hesitates to start and I have to wait a few mins to start my car. Im not sure what it is but my friend's dad said that I have to wait till it doesn't start anymore to replace parts to see what it was. Well if you know anything about my problems please help me.

check the belt first. Might need to adjust tension or replace it.

sounds like the main relay. Remove it and look at the back of the circuit board. Look closely for rings around the solder joimts. These are called dry joints. If you find some, remove the solder and resolder it. I'd try that first.

It's right above the hood release. Might have to remove the coin tray and hood release cable for access. It's fastened to the frame with one 10mm bolt. Once it's out, remove the black casing.

This link has a pic of a dry joint.
main relay repair

I missed it the first time when i looked at my main relay.

That's flux. It helps the solder do a better job of sticking and will reappear if you resolder the main relay.
