One belt runs from the crank to power the alternator and AC, has anyone disconnected their AC? What belt did you use? Thanks for any help

 

not sure about the 3rd gen lude.

I took a peice of string and tied it around the crank pulley and alternator pulley, then took it to napa and they gave me a few belts with the right # of ribs to choose from. good luck!

 

good idea, my AC is about dead and the car is old so I might disconnect it, did you notice any difference when you got rid of yours?

 

yeah, i before i took the ac out of the loop power seemed to die off at about 5 or 6k. . . after wards it pulled hard all the way to redline. its not a huge gain and i wouldnt have done it if my ac actually worked!
