90' accord A/C conversion help
A couple years ago I opted for the 134a conversion rather than spending $65 a pound to refill my freon system -- now the central CA heat is too much for my A/C... the freon system doesn't have the size or pressure to run the 134a cold enough... I only changed the service port so i could easily change it back to a freon system, but I am wondering if there is any way to put a newer system made for the 134a that would actually work... (I just can't stand the thought of paying someone to fill my A/C, especially at $65 a pound) if so, what year should I seek out at the junk yard for parts???
Thanks
Eric

This R-12 alternative claims to cool better that R-134a.
I've never used it but it piqued my interest when I saw retrofit kits being sold on eBay - just search for "Freeze 12"
If you do try this product, please let me know how well it works out. With this heat, I'm thinking about fixing the A/C in my Bay Area commuter car and this looks like a decent alternative to R-134a.

This link should help you...I've decided that an auto A/C business in Arizona probably knows what they are talking about. LOL
