Default Block Hone and ZC domed pistons in D16a6 or B18a1 Swap ????????

i Have a D16a6 in my 91 SI hatch with Intake, exhaust , high flow cat , headers, 9 Lbs Flywheel , and 6 puck stage 2 clutch

Was thinking about putting in ZC pistons and a Y6 head But.....

dont know how much honing the block will cost ,

Or if its even worth it should i scrap my D series

and go with a B18 and get a B16 head on it for LS/Vtec ????

Or Should i get a B16 and put a LS block under it ???

is it easier to put the head on the b18 or the block under the b16 ???

Btw i ran a 15.8 on my current setup which isnt bad for a single slam i guess

Spanked a 92 gsr with in take and exhaust
that made me happy

Cost effective will DEFINITELY be to keep to your D block. You won't get done with an LSVTEC for less than $3000, or more if you do it right.

Since you already have some goodies for the D series I'd do the y8 head like you said. Don't know what compression you'll see with those pistons but it'll haul *** nonetheless. Just don't skimp on preventive maintenance while you're doing it: timing belt at least, new gaskets, maybe even pumps if you can afford them. It'll last a loooonnng time.

Machining isn't mad $$ either. Mine's being honed/cleaned for around $100. And yeah nothing wrong with a 15.8, you'll see 14's with the y8 head I bet.

A6 block with a y8 head and ZC domed pistons is gonna put compression in the near13's. Closer to 14:1 if you use the y8 head gasket. With that said, tell us how it turns out.

13.9:1 it says when i plug in the components ide be using that cannot be right

that would be a monster of a D series motor

I wonder if the pistons would hit the valves?
