Default EGT gauge and probe cost?

Need to pick up an egt gauge with probe for my soon to be installed turbo.

Does anyone have any idea of what I'll be looking at $$$ wise?

Is there any one running the Westach egt gauge kit?

cheers dudes!

gonna cost you about 170-220 depending on where you get your guage. The one most of us here use i would suspect is the Greddy EGT. theres been a post here earlier this week on where to find the cheapest prices on that specific gauge.

You can pick up an autometer set for around $200 from summitracing. Just go to autometer's site and look up the parts you want. For the gauge it's basically what color you want it in. For the probe however, there are three levels. The gauge with the competition probe will run you around $200.

how about the VDO unit?

I would like to spend 250 on a gauge but unfortunalty the money tree died.....................haha. No seriously I'm trying to do it on a budget with out sacraficing to much quality. I know VDO has economical priced gauges.

Does anybody have any problem with the Autometers? Pritos said his reads slow. I know my bro-in-law's Greddy seemes to read pretty quickly.

Yeah, I hear they are a bit slow, but they are the fastest for 115 bucks (with probe)!!!

Anyone with the better probe from Autometer? I have 5765 and 5244. I have it but haven't put it on yet. Is this 'slow' as well? I am hoping a better probe will perform better.

How's ~$55 sound? http://www.wicksaircraft.com/showPage.phtml?pagenum=201

These guys make components for aircraft, I'm using their EGT right now and have been for the last 4 months. Pretty decent, especially for the price.

Good luck,

Ryan P.

Greddy is the best bang for the buck that you can get. I got mine off groupbuycenter.com for 130.00 shipped and it works very very well. It included the gauge and probe and all wiring necessary for install. Plus the gauge is of a much higher quality than autometers.

thats a westach gauge isen't it?

Anyway thats a smacken price. Some one locally told me they use them on snowmobile's also and they are fairly cheap.

So you find the gauge good hey? what do it read at cruising and at WOT. is it fast or slow?

cheers
