value of prelude shell? value with jdm h22
i have a 1994 prelude shell. it was orgionally a vtec h22 car and has black paint with factory gold flake. the body is in good condition and the paint is shiny. the interior is also in good shape and has seats. the only problem is theres holes in the trunk from a spoiler. im debating on buying an jdmh22 building the car, or just selling the shell. either way i cant keep it because i have too many cars. i wanted some opinins on how much its worth w/o motor, or with the jdm h22. and advice on what to do with it?
the kbb private party value is $4295 wile the suggested retail value is $6550. the motor will probly cost between $2200- $2500 for everything. i just dont know if its worth the work or how hard it would be to sell the compleate car

There are many 4th gens on sale for 1800 - 5000. I believe you should sell the shell for no more than 1500 tops, because I got my 4th gen running and in good condition for less than that.
im not sure, but i know that actual price you would pay for it isnt that much, but after all customs, and all the other fees, you end up paying a lot. i dont know exact numbers, but i was looking into importing one and people said it was a lot
Is there really a market for prelude shells? Cause I'm gonna be selling my shell soon and I figured I would just be selling it to the junkyard and losing a bunch of money...
i ment to say a usdm prelude with a jdm h22 motor. there was alot of 4th gen preludes on autotrader selling for alot, like over 8k, i was suprised.
yeah. they do hold their value pretty well. one thing some people wont buy is a car with a swapped in engine. ull get some of the young kids, but the ones who know wont pay a lot for it. i know i wouldnt want a car with a swap done, cuz u dont know if it was done right, or how much it was beaten on. you could buy the engine, and then swap it in and sell it, but i dont think ur gonna make that much off of it, if any. let me know if you want to sell the shell though.

i mean, if it's a clean good condition shell, with straight frame, good suspension and good paint i think it's worth 2g. though, i would probably want the cheapest possible usable car/chassis i could find.
Once i start looking for a shell/beater to build my race car with i'll be looking for good condition shells and won't mind paying extra money for a nice one.
