5th Gen shaking?
95 Accord EX sedan. I just put on 2 new tires and got my tires balanced my tires are fine. When I'm driving at 75 to 60mph and brake I get a shaking in my steering wheel really bad. When I'm driving at slower speeds and brake I don't get shaking just happens when I'm going highway speeds and have to break. My car is lowered. I have never had an alignment done. What is wrong?
Thanks
Thanks
first try getting it aligned but i doubt thats what you problem is.. you say it shakes when you brake .. that means you rotors are un even... you might want to get you two fron rotors resurfaced.. it doesnt cost much.. just take it to a local brake shop and they can do it for you..
Get the brakes checked out....Probably not an alignment issue, thats what I thought the problem with my 92 accord was, but it was the brakes. My car did it not so much driving but hitting the brakes, even slightly, caused the wheel to shake a lot. Again, BRAKES - get them looked at
try a quick test to see if it is coming from frt rotors or rears,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
drive at hwy speed to cause shake,,,, slow down car just by appying e-brake if it shakes you got an issue with rear rotors if it does not shake it is your frt rotors like it was suggested have them resurfaced if enough material is left if could go below specs put new rotors in

hey im just wondering.. if the rear rotors were warped would they cuase the same effecct? i dont see how that could be.. when the front rotors are warped while braking they bounce the stearing wheel around cuz their the two that are atteched to it.. but in the rear wouldnt you just feel the tail of the car either bumpy or sway back in forth?

Hmmm, odd my shake at highway speeds turned out to be the wish bone mount (the one inbetween the radiator and the exhaust pipes.
But then again I have seen them shake with a bad motor/trany mount too.
One was a bad balance shaft belt. Another a wheel bearing.
Too many iff'ies
Good luck

it's a rotor near 100% sure. on mine if I just rode around town at slow speeds when I come to a stop nothing. After hitting the HW and braking from 60 at a few lights the brakes would get hot and she'd start shaking like crazy. After it starts shaking do you feel a pulse from the brakes when coming to a slow stop?
