Default using cheap paint place for spot job?

anyone have or would recommend going to a place like maaco or earl sheib to repair some dents and paint a couple spots?

for my car, a 97 VSM coupe, I have a large stain on my rear quarter panel from someone throwing an egg at my car, and i have a couple paint chips from removing this adhesive crap from the fenders. other than that, the paint's all good. just wanted to get some opinions.

also, s the 96-98 VSM paint shade darker than the 99-00 VSM? i parked next to another VSM civic and it looked lighter. and no, my car was not dirty at the time.

ive been detailing for about five years, and judging from experience the only way you would be able to have a single section repainted and have it look really good is to pay a good shop to blend it in, or just get the whole thing repainted.

also judging by what you said, saying you have a large egg stain is kinda useless without a picture to see the condition of the paint. a good detailer might be able to clean it up and make it go away.

and for the chips, if they were really small and not bigger then the size of a quater you could probably go to a place like http://www.paintscratch.com and buy a repair kit for small chips and stuff. you could do that, wetsand the entire area and have it buffed and waxed and it would look better or just less noticeable.

as far as the egg stain, i can post a pic later, but it can only be seen at an angle and different light. its not too noticable, but its there. it looks like it took off the top coat only
