do lose throttle response with CAI ?
right now i have an ebay pipe with a filter and its a short ram, but now I want to get a brand name INtake with a CARB number because I live in san diego and you know the law down here. And I was thinking about either short ram again or cold air, but with a cold air intake will I lose throttle response over a short ram ? and if I add a bypass valve to it, will it become even worst? give me some input on this. I'm thinking about AEM INJEN or the new weapon R intake.
both are good but a SRI will give you better throttle responce, but less HP, where as a cold air intake will give you abit more HP. But if you decide to add the bypass vavle to save your engine from hydrolocking, then your removing the extra 1-2HP (if even that) that the cold air intake has over the SRI. So int hat case you might as well just go with a SRI.
you aren't gonig to be able to feel an difference. we are talking about maybe 1hp. you will lose that 1hp anyways by putting on a bypass. i know that every time i drive through a puddle i thank god i put on a short ram.
yeah, u do lose throttle response, but its not that much of a difference. the short ram is a lot louder though. if u need C.A.R.B. sticker to make ur intake pass smog then let me know because i know some one that has C.A.R.B. stickers for sale. thats how i got mine and i passed my smog test. and i'm from LA
