whining sound coming from timing belt?
you know that sound that some trannys make? Its like a whining sound while youre in gear? Usually its a sign of a worn diff. I thought thats what it was until it made the sound when I rev the motor (GSR). I loosened the serp belt to see if that was the prob and it wasnt, it seems like its coming from the timing belt.
anybody got any ideas of what could make that sound?

I had a similar problem coming from the timing belt. My odometer was around 70,000 miles and needed a new timing belt. So I replaced a timing belt, water pump and all the application that came with it at the dealer and the "whining" sound was gone. No strange sound coming from the engine bay. So if it's about time to replace the belt, I suggest you have it replace ASAP, otherwise I wouldn't want to have the belt snap on you. What's your miles BTW? Have you replaced timing belts recently?
