Is this a good deal?
A friend of mine used to work at best buy...and while he did...he bought a Clifford alarm system for his hatchback. Well, he sold the hatchback without getting the alarm ever installed...and said he'll give it to me for $250. Here's what he's giving me:
-The basic alarm system (not sure which model...but he said it was the best one they carried at best buy).
-Two Remotes (carbon fiber looking ones)
-Dual Zone Shock Sensor
-Dual Zone Proximity Sensor
-Power Door Lock Motors
-Battery Backup
-Remote Startup
Is that a good deal? My friend knows someone who does really professional installations and is someone I can trust....he said he'd install everything for $500.
Should I go for it? I'm buying a hatchback soon and gonna get a gsr engine put in it immediately...I just wanna deter thieves as much as possible.

hmm I wasnt aware best buy sold Cliffords.. when i went to my local best buy it was only Black Widow or something like that.. anyway... it really depends on the model number because having 2 remotes, a dual zone shock sensor are pretty much standard features nowadays...
i guess $250 is not bad.. but on the installation $500 is A LOT... i have a really professional install in my car.. where the wires are hidden and masked well (all wires are black, wrapped in black tape, soldered connections, in conduit, some run along w/ stock wiring, etc..) but then again the installer is my long time friend and he did it for the price of lunch and dinner.. hehe.. for the $750 your about to spend ($250 for the alarm.. and $500 install????) you could probably have bought that alarm and had it installed at a shop...
im not saying the shop would do a better job than your friend.. but man $500 is A LOT considering thats hook upz..
i'd say the deal on the alarm is OK (assuming its new/never used).. if you could get back w/ us on the model number that'd be good.. (Concept 6000? Intelliguard 9000? AvantGuard 4?, etc..) the install IMO sounds kinda pricey..
