lsvtec+pr3's=pump gas???
i am curently building a lsvtec ''b18 bottem b16 head''and i want to put pr3 pistons in it and i am afraid that im not going to be able to run pump gas. do you think i will be able to slide wit 93?i am also driving the car to nopi in atl ga from new jerz.should i jus slap the head on n call it a day?i would jus like to here your guys opinon on this..thanks..beleve me i searched, nothing convincing tho..sorry 4 the spelling
93 octane will be fine.
I am running 94 octane in my LS/VTEC, which has PR3 pistons. I had the head and block surfaced, so compression is a bit higher.
Of course, the tune is very important. I am running Uberdata, and I modified my old B16A bin, with lots of fuel and not much timing. I also set the timing at my distributor at about 15 degrees. I have no pinging.
EDIT: I should also mention that I just had my brother tune the car with our wideband oxygen sensor, and it was still lean. We had to add a lot of fuel past 7000 rpm, enough that I'm almost maxing out my stock B16 injectors. When I get big cams (only running JDM P30 right now) I'm gonna need some DSM's.
