Default does any know a good combo that would go with tein s-tech lowering springs??

i want to livin up my suspension by buying new control arms, springs, struts and strut bars. i bought the Tein S-Tech lowering springs hoping i could just lower my car for this year and then next summer completely re-work the suspension. turns out that i have 3 screws in the rear that are rusted in the bushings. so i've decided to wait and do everything next year. i'm going to try to order everything and get it ready by this fall so i can either put it on during the winter or during early spring. could i match a shock with the S-Techs? or do i have to get a different kind of springs?? i want a race car. not a drag car but like serious serious handling. i dont want a coilover kit cause they are damn exspensive and i dont want to **** something up with adjusting it. i just want a serious handling car! please help guys! i'm only 16 and i live in a hick *** town where the cool thing is to have a mustang or a truck. obviously i dont have either and i get picked on cause i want to dump a **** load into my "piece of ****" they call it. i want to out handle and just down right out perform all the stangs and trans am's and all that stupid bullshit. oh and by the way, my car is a 97 ex with a d16 please help me guys!

lol, are you doing this to the car for your pleasure or just to show others that you are able to out perform them.

You sound very confused kiddo. I would suggest you mate the stech springs with a koni shock. Your right, getting a coilover that is far advanced from your knowledge could run you into problems.

i dont care about the other ppl i just want a car that will make my factory seat come off the bracket cause there's just to many g's acting on it i may sound confused but i want a perfect car. well my perfect car i'm happy with the power but maybe a little bit more would be nice but i just want an amazingly good handling car. i was reading about the JUN itr and it only has around 300 horses but it throws down 1 minute and 2 second run at Tsukuba and the JGTC-spec NSX runs 51 seconds and also the carbon hks evo it didn't have a 1000 horses but it flew out on the track. sure it had like 450 but it must have had a hell of a suspension to beat out the 500 horse signal auto skyline i mean that thing was fast but you know wut i'm saying?? i dont want to out power anyone i mean eventually cause all i have is a d16 and eventually i'm gunna turbo charge it and then maybe i'll be able to outpower them but i want a car that can handle like a f1 car please help

props to all you d16 ppl that are boosting! thats awesome your my idol

man your really confused...do this...

buy koni shocks (yellows) and use your tein s-tech springs for the time being...
then
when you get serious and have knowlegde about what you want to do buy GroundControl coilovers and get custom spring rates for the type of road racing you want to do...sounds pretty easy huh...thats if money isnt a factor...

"All these Koni shock absorbers have typical properties which influence road behaviour of the car.
The inappropriate use of pressurised shock absorbers may increase the ride-height which could affect the stability of the car and thus the safety.
However, the handling of some cars may even improve by using these shock absorbers." ?????? modacar.com's description of the koni yellows
if you adjust as stiff as they can get....will it help the handling??? and if you make them as soft as they go will it lower the car a lil bit????? it says that it may lower the car?? i dont want it to do that! i just want it stiff

there is so much difference from the stiffest 2 softest setting on there itll just be what you want most people make it all the way stiff and a half turn 2 soft as struts go... cant get much better and its worth it so many people use koni yellows that broken ones are being bought just 2 be reparied and used again

Having the Yellows on a stiff setting will help your handling, but only to a certain point. Without proper springrates you are really limiting yourself. Like many other parts of your car, your handling depends on the whole picture. As you learn you can figure out more and more what you want to use to achieve what you want (be it RR/autox, or whatever). I would suggest now going with Koni yellows. They are quality shocks, and something that will benefit you later when you learn more. Look into coilovers and such (I would suggest GC also, like above) for the near future.

As for the money thing, you get what you put into it. Best piece of advice would be to buy quality parts. Do it right the first time. GL
