ls fifth gear into a j1?

ls fifth gear into a j1?
so am going to be using a jdm j1 tranny in my upcoming engine swap. i want the short gears of the j1 but with a long ls fifth for freeway driving, so i am wondering if the ls 5th will fit in place of the j1 5th? has anyone done this, and what are your rpms like aroung 70?
