Default headwork on k20a2 (need help!!!))))

im not the know it all with the k20 motors, i know more 4g63(DSM, last car) knowlegde than the k20s, and they are boosted, and im looking for n/a. The k20a3 has a compression of 9.6:1 (if im not mistakened). If i get a k20a2 head from a type s, will it raise the compression to the 11.1:1, or will the numbers be floating somewhere else. I would like to stay away from my pistons for now since its a 04 model(si). If i do get the head, i would like to port and polish, race cams, springs, retainers, and valves, and honda tune the ecu for the modifation. Can anyone give me feedback, im stuck in the water. (also looking for a good auto school, in the south, northcaroline and down). Curently doing heating and air but will kill the streets when taught all the ins n outs with motors. THanks Fellazz!!!

Well the k20a2 would not raise the compression to 11.1:1, i believe the head casting is the same or very similar therefore it wont raise your compression that much or at all. And i would suggest getting either a k20a2 block or building a k24 with tsx pistons which will raise your compression to 10.6, that and either a milling the head or a thinner head gasket which will get you closer to 11. c.r. I am also looking for an autoschool, the one im looking at is sam racing. But ive gotten no feed backs from students who went there.

so if i was to get a k20a3 head, mill it down (any suggestions where to get that done), or a thinner head gasket that'll raise my compression. I just want to run at a higher rpm with a whole new head set up for more hp. lookin for atleast 175 whp or more.

riped a Z28 a new ******* on the backroads, he got sucked up!!!!

i heard the type s head is better than the a3 head. if so, and if i was to get the type s head, would i get the type s setup and all or i would i get the a3 set up, and would i need the a2 ecu (even tho i think hondauses the type s ecu for the core they give). do you know where to get the head milled down to raise compression? and how much it might be?

all i can say is sign up on k20a.org and start hitting the books (search button ) and read up as much as possible and u will learn real fast. the a3 head is kinda worthless right now, no cams, it doesnt have the same vtec as the a2'er's (type s and tsx). so this puts it at a disadvantage. i would look into a full k20a2 swap or a k24a2 swap dont let ppl fool u in that the k20a2 is head better the tsx head, it has less aggressive cams, smaller ports makes the same hp and makes way more tq, being it has more displacement. i believe u can use any k series ecu for the kpro now, only difference if ur getting a 6 speed trany u need a 6 spd ecu for the reverse lockout feature. for head milling ur best bet would to found a local shop that has a good rep, or unless u can send it out to someone like tom @ portflow. also if ur not looking into spending some money this swap prolly isnt for you. not trying to start anything but this swap isnt all that cheap and it might discourage on your to building it. mine is roughly going to be about 7. for a pretty much stock swap into a dc roller i pickup so im starting with 0. good luck.
