Another main relay question....sorry but i did search
whats up guys and gals...im new to the forums here and im having a few problems with my accord...so let me give you some basic specs
92 accord lx
2 dr 5 speed
here is my problem and im assuming its the main relay thats causing it
when it gets hot out my car doesnt like to start...common with main relay problems (i did searh the hell out of this site but still doesnt answer all my questions)
when i pull the plugs and crank it .....no fuel
so before i do a fuel pump i want to check the relay
sorry for being so ignorant but i cant seem to find it here are a few pics, if someone could point it out that would be great
i have no problem doing ANYTHING else to a car, but when i comes the electrical i suck at life

most likely main relay sodering are cracked, remove relay located under dash left side of steering column, above cruise contorl unit. 7 wires going to it,, rusty/brown in color looking at it from underneath, pry open the 2 little tabs on side, chk relay for cracked soderings you might need a magnifed glass .. if any cracked resoder, put together
ok i found the relay but im not sure if its messed up...its kinda hard to tell so im going to switch mine with a friends accord....his is a 91 so i assume as long as its the same gen then ill be ok
I am assuming that you are going to swap it for several days if needed to get both cars good and hot on the inside. Some techs turn the heat on while sitting out in the sun to see if the car will die but does not always work. Remember to keep both cars parked out in the sun.
Checking the plugs for fuel is the long way, on top of your fuel filter or in the fuel injector rail is a small 12mm nut (test port plug). Crack it open, a little residual fuel may drain out so keep some rags under the port. Turn the key till the idiot lights come on (KOEO) and the computer will fire up the fuel pump for about three seconds via the main relay. No squirting of fuel = possible main relay. Tighten the 12mm nut, lay down under the steering column, turn the key to try to start and smack the main relay with screwdriver handle, car may start = bad main relay. Keep the door closed while trying these couple of tests, all the hot air will escape quickly and the main relay may start to work on its own.
Get in car, close door and window, no start, check fuel squirting, tighten fuel test port plug, get under dash, crank car, hit relay and see if car starts = bad main relay.
