Seat locks for integras?
I wasnt too worried about this problem until my garage was broken into last week, and it got me to thinking about some more security for the car. I have some aftermarket recaros in the car right not which were pretty expensive and im looking for something to prevent or at least slow down a would be thief. I searched ,and all i could find was a post over in the s2000 forums about seat locks. Does anyone know of a company who makes them for our integra seats?
seat locks???
I never heard of such a thing.
How about putting the bolts in and tack weld them so they can't be loosened?
Or use one way bolts (like a steering colum has).

The problem with that is, I may need to take them out one day. I guess what im looking for is a bolt for a seat similar to a locking lug nut which requires a special key to unbolt. Short of going to a bolt manufacturer and getting something custom made, has anyone ever heard of a company that makes such a product?
I used to work for a fastener distibution company. Contact one and find out what they have. Most likely though you'll have to get them custom. The company I used to work for was ServTronics. phone number is 407-677-8191. Speak to brenda and tell her Dave sent you. I'm sure she can outsource them for you if your that concerned.

yeah I found this link on a google search, sorry to hear about your garage. I would not be able to sleep at night if I were you.

Thanks for the quick replies.
justink, i do find myself waking up and looking out at the window a little more often. My dads vette was in the garage too, and it doesnt seem like they even bothered looking at it.

I never even heard of seat locking bolts before reading this post.
Can't say as it would be much of a deterrent since the scumbag morons would already have to be IN your car to notice they'll have a bit longer time to strip some more interior, but whatever lets you sleep better I suppose.
I'd think they'd get pissed and just take the whole car if they didn't already.

hey those are mine
my theory is... if somone is gonna steal my car im sure its getting stripped and theres nothing to do about it. the car will be totalled out no matter what. regardless if they manage to take the seats out or slash them. im just making it harder for them. the seats bolts are near impossible to take out without the key for the locks. the bolts itself are a higher strength bolt then the oem seat bolts. the locks are also rounded so theres no way you can get a vice grip on it. the locks are no longer being made and theres different keys for each batch that was produced.
BTW: its not a torx bolt its actually a mcgard lock that needs a key.

go to the hardware store and see if they sell allen wrench bolts in the same size.
or
use different socket size bolts i think oem is 12mm so get 14mm sized bolts
i would be more worried the garage failed, and bolt down the garage door besides if the thiefs were smart they would have checked your remote code on the garage door engine. so they may already have the code.. change it and bolt the door down.
good luck
