Hood is stuck after i changed out for a replacement one.
I have a 90 civic si, it had a dented hood and it took a few tries to get the hood to pop before replacing it with a used hood. After I installed the replacement. The hood would not close at all. It stayed in the "popped" mode. I had my brother pull the hood release and keep it pulled while i closed the hood. Hood closed flush but now when he pulls the release the damn hood does pop.
If anyone knows what I should do next to get this damn hood back up, please let me know.
Thanks.

Mine is permanently like that. You need two people. One on the front of the car, and one operating the latch.. Pull the latch until its tight in the car, and the guy on the front of the hood just give a quick "shove" down over top of the Honda symbol.
you can try to adjust the striker latch, hood latch and the actually hood pin with the spring. it'll take a bit of adjusting but you can make it better. sometime you just need to adjust one and sometimes its a combination of all of them
My civic used to do this. The way I fixed it was to adjust the portion of the latch that is attached to the hood. If you look at it it has a slot for a flat head screw driver and is adjustable via a threaded portion on one end. Loosen the nut (12 mm maybe) give it a few turns out and it should fix your problem.
If that doesnt work it is possible you do not have the 2 parts of the latch aligned correctly. My hood latch had a bit of play in the bolt holes. I would guess and test and see if that will solve it.

The way I always did it was to push and hold on the hood (think giving CPR) and have your helper pull on the hood release.
If that doesn't work you may have to take more drastic measures.

I had that prob too. I would just push down on the hood (like CPR as mentioned) Then yell CLEAR, then go pull the latch about 10 times till it would click. Repeat over and over till it works. Sometimes I would have to go out and give it a quick lift and then push.
Now that I think about it, I'm glad I got my cf hood, no latch just pins.
