transmission problem 97 gsr
Recently, I can't seem to shift into gears after I started the engine. I have to try many times to get it into gear. Today, my car stalled twice when I was clutching in 2nd gear. I also grind from time to time when I shift between gears and trying to get into reverse. What is wrong with my car?
Thanks.
Thanks.
try clearin up your clutch by switchin to 1st then to reverse, if you do reverse. also when you shift, are you sure you engaged the clutch enough to shift? if so you shouldnt be hearing a grindin noise.
check your tranny fluid and makes shore theirs enough// and new?.. haha and if its not.. then fill it up.. and urm?.. bleed ur clutch.. (keep pumpin it and pumping it)
I had the same problem when I switched to Redline tranny fluid. The same grinding and difficulty putting into gears (mainly 1st & 2nd) started about a week or two after the redline MTF.
Went back to OEM Honda MTF and eveything normalized. Also my tranny was noisier with the Redline. It quieted down again as soon as I switched back to Honda MTF.
A lot of people swear by Redline fluids. I guess mine and yours don't like the stuff. Do you have a Quaife LSD like me btw? I 'm trying to see if our trannies have something in common.. I 'm sure we 're not the only ones experiencing problems with Redline MTF. I think it works better on older Civic trannies.
