this is my first post in this forum. I want to know something about my car. I bought it 2 weeks ago for only 150 dollars from a mexican dude. When i first got it it ran for for a little bit. In 2 days the rpms wouldn't go past 4000 and i would have to shift early. Now it's broke. To get it to start going you have to push it. I was thinking it was the clutch. My question is do i need a new clutch or what?
my car weighs 2515 pounds. Please help me and all advice would be apreciated. i was thinking about just getting a new clutch for 300 but damn. is there anything i can do cause school starts in 2 weeks and i need my ride running. I work at mcdonalds and have already made atleast 400 dollars.

Yes, it starts real easily. The engine sounds good. Heres what the car looks like. Its not the one i have but you know. (Ill get real pics when i get my new digital cam.)

That's the weight for mine on the door also. I have a 88 crx dx. weird cuz the numbers online say it should weight in at around 1950.

 

The weight in the door is the amount of weight the car can hold and still function, as in capacity. It is not the curb weight aka the actual weight of the car. Why did you even mention weight anyway?

Don't waste your money throwing parts at the car. Take it to a mechanic.

 

yeah its the vehicle gross weight. thats what the car weighs with 2 people full trunk and a full tank of gas.......find out what really wrong with ur car before u start dumping money into it.....is the CEL= Check Engine Light on? Sound like u were in limp mode.............check the codes

yeah, that's not the clutch. if it wont start, it's either the starter, or something that engages the starter. the fact you can push start it proves the clutch is fine.

 

no, it starts and the engine sounds nice. I dont know if its a dx or what ever cause the ican still hasnt gaven me the title. when ever i put it in 1st it will just start going back and forth. reverse use to be the only gear that would make it go but now thats fucked. The engine light never comes on. I dont wanna take it to a mechanic cause i dont got alot of money or time. I am gonna take it apart today
