Help, Fixing CD Player holder in 3rd gen Teg!
I have a 95 Teg. The whole "console" where the cd player is and the little tray under it comes out. It was in there fine for over a year. Out of know where it just flys out the other day when I was making a pass down the 1320. Now it just comes out all the time. What could be the problem?
ok you have to take out the part around your shifter, i dont know what its called and also the cigarette lighter and ash tray to do this. but there are two pain in the *** bolts that hold your cd player in and sometimes they come loose if not screwed on properly. they are underneath the cd player holding it in from the bottom so the head of the screw is facing down. one on each side of the cd player. there is a little bracket thing made of sheet metal that these screw into and also the player sits on youll see when you look up under there. if the little box under the player comes off separately, there are two bracket things that hold that to the cd player, on on each side of the player that bolt to the box. you need to put the cd player back in before you put this box back on, i think, otherwise you may not be able to get to those two PITA bolts. if you have anymore questions, just post or something again, i may have left some things out, sorry. hope that helps.
one more thing, those two bolts should already be screwed into the cd player, they are silver, i think they are 8's i had to use a 1/4 socket drive with a deep well to get them. you do not have to remove them from the cd player, they will slide in to the mounting place with the cd player, you will see.
those little brackets that hold the box on should also already be attached to the player.

mrdeadman is right. the little tray under the cd player is actually attached to the cd player itself with a couple mounting brackets. secure the cd player and the tray will go with it.
i just explained to you how to fix that problem. the reason it comes out as a whole is because there are only 2 bolts holding the entire set up in. the ones that mount the cd h.u. to it's sheet metal bracket. how is that coming along? im seriously not lying to you or anything. ive done this before on my teg.
to clarify, the tray is mounted to the cd player and nothing else. turns out to be a bit of a pain if you want to put in a new stereo and keep the tray, because you have to either modify the existing pieces or make new mounting hardware so you can anchor the tray to the new cd player.
Oh alright then, Im going to try it and get back with you. But the thing that trips me out is it was like this for over a year and then out of no where it just flys out one day.
