Just wondring on the average how much do flat faced valves raise your compression??
I have a JDM ITR motor 11:1.1 and will be building my head and was wondering how high my compression will be around when installing these.
ALso I plan to mill the head 10-20 thou and use a 2 layer headgaket.
I tried calculating it on c-speed but I really suck at math and numbers in general. Can someone help out please and give me a rough idea of what my compression will be about.
TIA

Flat faced valves will add about .2 bump in compression. A 2 layer head gasket will also net you about .2-.3 bump in compression. For every .010 thou that you remove off the head or deck (block) you'll increase the comp ratio by about .2 as well. Add up whatever you do on top of what the known compression ratio is and you'll have a final number.

Thanks for the info. So if I got my compression up to about 11:5.1-11:7.1 do you think that would be enough compression to run Skunk2 Pro 1's or BC Spec IV's???

yes
yes
Just for reference: I emailed buddy club and they told me all that's recommended for spec IV's was 10.5:1 compression, but obviously the higher the better.
