timing issue?
i have a 92' honda accord lx, i just put a dc sports header and a skunk 2 cam gear on.i bought the cam gear due to my timing being off i thought but now i'm not so sure. cam gear is on and i've adjusted all the way, even moved the belt a tooth. and still i get to 3500 rpm and it starts sputterin and poppin. moving the cam gear just made me get to 3500 rpm slower, if i moved it all the way back the other way it gets there fast and runs really shitty after. so my question is, is it timing? or some thing else? if not what could it be? I'd be very grateful for some help! thanx
its a new distributor with less than 20 hours drive time, i did take the car to a shop to put in time. they moved the distributor to adjust the time and arrugued with me that they had to unbolt the motor mount to move the timing belt.
Just set it up like it was stock, get a vacuum gage and a fuel pressure gage and do some testing, dont forget the timing light too, start from scratch and then try to get more horsepower.
