215/45/16
I just got some rota grids, in 16x7, with a +40 offset. My car is lowered approx. 1.8", there is a 1.5 finger gap in the front, and 1.5" in the rear. With that size of side wall the tire/wheel height will be almost identical to stock. It is the width that I'm concerned about. Just wanted to know if I would have any problems with rubbing.
Thanks
Thanks
that's pretty much what i'm running... no problems here.. except for when i take a freeway off ramp at high speeds i tend to rub a little on the driverside tire. i also have hard suspension. what suspension are u running with ur drop. this also plays a part in rubbing.
I have the neuspeed sport springs, with the neuspeed/koni yellows.
Nuespeed Sport:
Rate: Front- 250 Rear- 185
Drop: Front- 1.75 Rear- 1.5
I have the perches for the front one ring below the middle on the yellows, thus why i rounded up to 1.8" drop in the front.
Edit: Also I have the stiffness on the yellows 3/4 of the max.

i'm on ground controls and koni yellows. i don't think clearance be an issue with your setup. you'll be fine. i set mine to full hard, except the fronts are 1/4 turn less that full hard. i seem to need it or else i'll have a little, but controlable understeer.
I run ssr comps (16x7) with the 215/45/16 azenis and when I first put em on I couldn't drive the car because the tires rubber the rear fenders so bad. I am running the koni/neuspeed sp3's with ground control coilovers...I believe the rates are 380 in the front and 450 in the rear with the comptech rear sway and lower tie bar. It took me all of that suspension work and realigning my car after raising it back up to around an inch-inch and a half gap between the tire and wheel well to keep it from rubbing on hard corners...
Hope this helps you, and IMO it seems like the 215's are not a good size unless you want more of an autocross/road course stance as opossed to the baller, slammed on your nuts stance

Well, I guess if I had to, i could raise the car back up atleast a good 1.5", at most 1.7" (back to stock height). Right now I have the USDM ITR rear sway bar also. I mean, it will only be autocross maybe 2-3 times a year, at the most, and most of the time daily driven. So not too many hard corners, other than the occassional spirited drive
So I guess my question is now, what height should i set the yellows at. Increments go in about .5", so how high should I go. Also, would it be worth going to the 215s, or would 205s suffice for my needs right now? Relatively soon, I plan on going turbo, so I would need the extra traction, and I figured this would be the time to start planning all that stuff out.

don't get me wrong, the 215's are a pretty big improvement. All I was saying is that you can't just throw them on and go with it like you can 205's, at least not on a teg.
Just make sure you have some time where you don't need the car for a while, or you have another set of wheels and tires to throw back on it, IF you do have similar problems. Also, stock height isn't necessary, I will try to get you a pic of my car's height....it's about as low as I felt comfortable with for eliminating rubbing and being daily driven.
