help w/ led conversion
Does anyone have any helpfull hint with installing leds? I have a 98 accord lx and I'm trying to do my led converion and I'm having trouble installing the resistors. One led I did came on and shut off and I could never get it to work anymore. Any help will be nice cause this bad boys are expensive. I bought the led's and resistors from radio shack.
3.7v/ 4.5v max
470 ohm resistors
If your applications allow for it, you can series wire 3 (three) leds (for a 12v system) and not have to use the resistor.
You also have to remember that leds' are directional. they will only work when wired positive/battery+ and negative/ground-. Resistors are unidirectional, meaning they can be wired in either direction.
Chances are you may have fried your first led attempt. It sounds like the led saw too much voltage and passed on to its' Great Reward.
I caught some guy advertising LED conversion kits and services on EBay about three weeks ago. His web address escapes me, but an EBay search might scare him up.
