JDM ITR 4-1 w/ heatshields, Carsound 2.5" cat., and ITR exhaust with the bottleneck at the cat./b-pipe connection removed will provide nice gains and maintain a stock look and basically stock sound. Don't bother with the USDM ITR manifold or cat. - both are .

Yes, that is a better setup, but it will cost way more money. I think the ITR header/cat/exhaust setup is good for a couple whp on a GS-R, and that entire setup should cost him less than a JDM ITR 4-1...

I'm not positive...but I believe if you are installing the ITR header, cat, and exhaust it will all bolt right up. If you try to install only parts of the complete exhaust system, it won't work with the existing GS-R parts. Any GS-R people want to confirm/deny this?

I concur. If you go with the whole H/E/cat, everything should bolt right up. Otherwise, the collector on the header and the b-pipe are too long.

On a tighter budget, you would probably be better off keeping your stock GSR manifold and installing a 2.25" Carsound cat., removing the first bottleneck on the stock b-pipe, and running an ITR axle-back. The ITR manifold simply isn't enough of an improvement to justify buying it, and the ITR cat. is very unimpressive as well.

BTW - I'm not trying to discourage you, and if you are set on getting the ITR setup then by all means do. However, for the roughly $300 or so the setup would cost, there are other mods that would likely provide better gains. I'm not sure of your current setup but a CAI, a set of cam pullies tuned on a dyno, or a used vtec/fuel controller w/ tuning would likely provide better gains and would be more useful with future mods. HTH and good luck.

from everything ive seen and heard im not sure the exhaust will bolt on...main reason behind this is alot of people around bolt stuff on and take stuff off all the time and sell it and the type R exhausts that come off are R and LS compatible but everyone says its not gs-r compatible, dont know for sure but worth looking into..

YellowR is right... the cat-back will not bolt up. But he's talking about getting the header, cat, and exhaust. With the ITR header and cat, the cat-back should bolt up no problem.
