ViS Lip: Fitment Issues.
I just got a ViS front lip for my '95 coupe and it doesn't seem to fit very well. I dont have pix yet, but I'll do my best to explain it...
Basically, when one side is on, only about half the front wants to sit flush, and the other side is competely crooked and off. If I manage to get both sides pressed into place, the whole front is completely off and not even close to being flush. None of the mounting points make contact.
Did I get a bad lip, or is this just ViS quality? Should I exchange it or just have a body shop install it?
I searched new and archived forums and found nothing...

I know with mine I had to force it on the one side.. Set up your ends first then work your way in using the stock lip as your guide.. I'd use self tapping screws to secure the lip in place.. After all that if its still giving you problems return it or like you said have a body shop look at it..

It's VIS you take your chances. Take some double sided tape and a screw gun to that **** and call it a day.

I had the same issue with my VIS lip, I thought that it didn't fit at first but the more I looked at it I figured it out... I thought that it was suppose to line up with the line that goes around the bottom of the bumper but mine doesn't (I looked at a lot of EG's and EJ's on this site to see if their VIS lip lined up with that line and I noticed that some lips did while others didn't).
The easiest way to do it is to get take your bumper off and lay it upside down on the ground, then place the lip on top (remember not to follow the line on the bottom of the bumper cause if you try to flex it to make it fit it will crack). Then take some white out and mark the lip through the holes on the bottom of the bumper. Once you have the holes marked you can drill it, but don't drill the holes too big just enough for the threads of the screws to fit (I got my screws from Home Depot, you can take one of the clips from the bottom of the bumper to the screw section and just find the screw that best fits).
Don't be scared to drill into the lip, just as long as you don't apply too much pressure to it you'll be fine and don't use too wide of a bit cause you can always make the hole bigger later. If you do happen to drill the hole bigger than the head of the screw you can always get the ring spacers that go between the screw and the bottom of the lip. Depending on how on-point you were with the marking of the lip with the white out, you might have to widen the holes on the lip so you can get the screws to fit into the bumper.
Altogether I have 5 screws holding on my lip... 2 at each corner, 1 in the middle, and 1 between each corner and the middle. Hope this helps...

Thanks for the input guys. With a little... no, lot of effort, I managed to get it installed. Looks about 95% fitment now. Here are some pix.

Now all I have to do is lift the front up a tad and get my JDM fenders wired and painted...
