Would a BFG 225 50R 15 fit a rota slipstreams 15 inch or a wider 15 inch rim thanks?

Well, it would help if you could provide (a) the model of BFG tire you're talking about, and (b) the width of the 15-inch wheel.

For that matter, with that information, why not just look it up yourself? Go to either the BFG website or the Tire Rack website, find the tire you're considering, and then click on Specs (on the Tire Rack website) or on Details and then Size & Specs (on the BFG website). Find your size and see what it says under "Approved Rim Width". That shows you the range of rim widths that are approved for that size and model of tire. If your wheel width is included in that range, then it should fit.

Of course, all that then tells you is whether it's possible to mount that size and model of tire on your wheels. Whether that is the right size for your car - in other words, doesn't create speedometer/odometer error, doesn't make your car accelerate slower because the outer diameter is larger, doesn't rub on the fender well liners - is another question entirely. And we would need to know what year and model of car you have in order to answer. (If your car is an Integra - I'm guessing based on your username - a 225/50-15 is not recommended for all of the above reasons. For most Integras, the best 15" size is 195/55-15, although 205/50-15 will also work.)

Okay... and for the dragstrip, you don't have to worry about most of the other factors I mentioned... but you still didn't tell us the width of your wheels.

The Tire Rack specs say that that size tire can be mounted on 15" wheels from 6.0 to 8.0 inches wide.

If you are referring to the stock USM ITR wheels, they are 6.0 inches wide, not 6.5. However, as noted above, even 15x6.0 wheels are okay for that model and size tire.

Which doesn't matter at the dragstrip, right?

If you're looking for the best 15" tires for the dragstrip, check out what Neo79Si posted about the Dunlop SP Sport Inferno drag tires in this other topic, when asked whether there is anything better than the BFG Drag Radial:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Neo79Si &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">In short, yes.

The Dunlop SP Sport Inferno is our latest DOT-legal drag radial. I acutally had four sets of them out at the local drag strip last night (Norwalk Raceway Park, in Ohio) for people to try out. Here are some unedited comments from the evening...

"Awesome radial tire - a must have - had Mickey Thompson ET Drag and went 13.52...no other mods, just the Dunlops, and it went 13.40"

"...by far the best feeling tire I have ever run...They virtually removed all wheel hop and allowed for a launch I didn't think was possible"

People were running anywhere from 0.5 to 1.5 seconds faster than on street tires, and everyone was very happy with how well they hooked up.

At the moment, the tires are available in a 205/50R15. They can be had from Harlow Specialty Tire (419.663.8473) for $115/ea

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you out. After seeing these run at the track twice now, and hearing people's comments, I am very confident these are the best drag radials on the market right now. More sizes are being developed and will be released in late 2005.

Most people don't use dragstrip tires on the street. They wear too fast to make it worthwhile. Unless you really like to buy new tires very, very frequently; most folks don't.

That's why BFG doesn't even put a treadwear rating on their Drag Radial tires. It says zero.
