After my cars been running for about 25-30 minutes my car starts to make a clanking noise. around 1900 rpms and 3000 rpms and above but not as loud (masked by my muffler). I don’t think it’s the heat shield, It’s not a humming. It doesn’t matter if I’m in gear or not it still makes the clanking noise.

It started to do this after I drove in to Dallas from San Antonio. I was going about 85-90 most of the trip(D to S.A. is a 5 hour drive) trying to make it in for a meeting. When I saw traffic and slowed I started to hear the noise when cars would pass me.

What could this be????? Any ideas…………

 

um that kinda happened to my friends cavalier, the problem was a blown fuel pump or something cause he lacked on oil changes and had to replace the entire engine. but i doubt thats the case here

 

nah its not i change my oil every 2000 miles....ohh and its a zc

 

does it rattle when u shift 1 - 3? Then 4th and 5th it is smooth?

 

its all smooth no change in feeling just loud.

 

guess im not the only one who doesnt know.
