Default Can I install a newer Stock Honda deck in my older car?

Ok, so it makes sense to me that one could take the Stock deck out of a 2004 Accord for example, and put it in a 99 honda civic, because there are only 2 sizes for a deck: DIN and double DIN, right? I was wondering if anyone's done this or thought about it... and which are compatible with which... I'm trying to upgrade my deck (in my 99 civic), but I don't want to attract theives with an aftermarket...

Have you seen the deck in an '04 Accord? Have you seen the dash in a '99 Civic? If you had, you would not have asked that question. The deck in newer Accords is integrated into one panel with the heat and AC controls... Definitely not going to fit.

If you're looking to change decks in your '99 civic, and replace it with a factory deck, a single din 98-02 Accord radio would fit, or any other single DIN acura or honda radio (except for 96-98 Civic decks - They've got that weird angled edge...)

Also, have you considered leaving the stock deck up top, and putting an aftermarket in the spot behind the cup holders in back of the shifter? That's where mine is, and many many others...

Actually, I have seen the deck for the 04 accord, and I know it comes with the whole console. But, have YOU seen the deck without the console? I have. It's single DIN and rectangular, but it's ugly (because it's covered behind the console), and I was just using it as an example. Anyone know anything about the S2000 deck? I've only seen a picture, but it looks single DIN and rectangular... possible fit?

[IMG][/IMG]What are you dum? Dont post if you dont know and just mislead another person asking for help with your stupidiness. No it wont plug up the harness are completly different. Now to the prson asking the question: If you want better sound but dont want your stuff jacked keep the stock radio and add a 4 channel amp to boost up power levels and clarity and upgrade your speakers. That alone will sound great.

Actually, I was trying to switch in a newer deck so I could use the Dension Ice>Link (because they're only compatible with 03 and up decks) so I can play my Ipod in my car.
