Redemption!!!!! Thieves caught!!!!!
So I got a beautiful Milano Red 96 GS-R with 95k miles, black leather, AEM CAI, Comptech headers, Greddy EVO cat-back exhaust, OEM ground effects kit, GC with Konis, Type R rear sway with Beaks kit, Alpine head unit, Inifity speakers all around, DEI alarm, Azenis tires, etc. for $7300 on my 21st birthday. This car was absolutely beautiful, garaged during the winter, etc.
The previous owner was ****. Here's what it looked like when I bought it:
Anyways, 21 days later, I'm on Long Island for the summer and I go to Roosevelt Field Mall and come out two hours later to no car
(despite a $400 DEI alarm). About a week later, my car has been found!!! So I go to the impound lot to check it out, hoping, praying. Here's what I see:
So I'm devastated. I start looking for another teg in similar shape and haven't found anything yet. Fast-forward a month. The insurance company just cut me a check for $7000 and is going to pay the tax on a new car. Still looking for a teg and haven't found anything.
Then I get a call tonight from "Restricted." Expecting a random idiot, I pickup and talk to a local detective who has found the thieves who stole my car!!!!!
Turns out they caught one stealing another car, got him to rat out the whole stolen car ring on this part of Long Island. The police setup a sting and nailed another guy with my motor in his house! They ran the VIN, contacted me, and now the guy has confessed to stealing my car!!!! So I'm going to contact the police tomorrow to see if I can't pickup my motor and anything else this jerk has.
Long story made bearable = thieves will pay, one way or another.

So u got a $7000 check plus ur old motor? Sounds like a blessing in disguise! Anyway, go get your optional sides/rear from the impound. Peace!

Yeah, I wish the sides were in good condition, but when the towing company found the car it had no wheels, so they just hooked it to a winch and drug it up onto the flatbed. Then I guess they let it slide off the flatbed to where it now sits. Needless to say, the entire underside of the car is fubar.

I think they should pull a little Starsky and Hutch interrogation style where they pretend to have the loaded gun to get the guy to confess!! That's how i would do it...Get them to confess to other carjackings and scare the living **** out of them in the precess, can't think of anything better. At least they caught the guys..good luck on the car hunt
good news to hear. being a fellow nassau county resident im happy theres lesss crooks off the street. its been pretty bad around here lately everyday in the paper im seeing more and more integras stolen. my integra was broken into twice in the same week and cost me over 3g's to put her back together lucky they never took the car, both times they just took parts. theives suck

man, that sucks. but i hate to break the news but you probably won't be able to get your motor back. my buddies si go jacked and then insurance cut him a check. police notified him that they had his motor, but because the insurance gave him a check for the si he wasn't able to pick up anymore. but the outcome might be better for you. who knows?
Wow, that's one incredible strip job. That's a schitty story. I hear Tegs are the most stolen car in America.
Something kind of similar happened to me with my first Prelude. You might be able to relate:

All's well that ends well. Good luck on the search.

i wish California cops would do the same....but it seems like they dont to chit to find out who's stealing what, especially when it comes to imports. I cant believe those dumb *** theives would steal everything but leave the oem optional sides!
Anyways, GLAD they were caught.....did the detectives locate any more of your parts besides your motor?
