Default Wiring Harness

What is the easiest way to switch wiring harnesses? I've got to switch from stock to aftermarket company. Is there any easier way than simply rewiring EVERYTHING?

thanks

I have a harness from crutchfield, but the plug into the HU is different than the stock accord, and it seems there are more wires in the new one than the stock accord one....... What do I do. (Audio is my most noob-ish area...)

or best buy, circuit city, or any real car audio shop. online too.

if you dont have any intention of putting the stock head unit back in, there really isnt any advantage to getting the harness. u r still going to have to strip and crimp wires...

and it just makes it tougher to shove all those wires back behind the cd player and make it fit. civics leave very little room for extra wires back there, not sure about other hondas tho.

i think he was trying to say that there will always be crimping involed, whether u have the adapter or not. there is still going to be work involved.

i bought one tho, its definately a back saver

Yeah, as most of you can relate to, its well over 100 degrees outside, and I just rather wire the harness and adapter together inside rather than crimping outside behind my dash. There's plenty of room in the Accord. Probably because Accords own Civics. j/m Also, with the right tools, there's no need to manually strip the wires. Just crimp 'em

you can get "smart" harnesses from circuit city...they have "universal adapters" so you don't have to crimp/solder. but they only car certain HU harnesses (sony, jvc, sony, pioneer (non-premier) and panasonic). that way you just plug the radio harness into the radio, then into the car adapter harness into the factory harness. you cutting, splicing, crimping or soldering.

whatever you do pleaes use a harness. Its just getto riging it by cutting wire. With harness adapters at least you can get all the wires connected right without aproblem.
