my '89 accord lxi just sprouted a leak in the exhaust just before the cat and i am thinking of sawing the pipe right there and getting custom piping from the exhaust manifold back. Only problem is that i have heard that this could damage the valves due top too much backpressure. It would be great if someone could confirm this for me.

 

dont do it, its the lack of backpressure thats going to make you have NO low end.
