Default Apexi N1 Exhaust GS-R

ok well my greddy evo has rusted yet again by the resesnator. so i think im just going to go out and buy a new exhaust from the looks around here Apexi N1 seems to be the exhuast to get. i heard it is really loud but im sure my exhuast leaky gsr is just as loud or louder. now here is my questions...it says it has a silencer does that help with the noise? and also i plan on running a test pipe, and a reactive header so will this combo be too loud? where is the cheapest place to get a Test Pipe and the N1 Cat-Back Exhuast?

n1 is nice. i had one on my civic. but on my gsr i have a gt spec. you can consider that too. 2.5 piping. it's more a rumble and sounds deep versus the n1's raspy sound. but it's on preference. i'm looking to get an n1 axle back for looks.

I had the N1 on my Teg. I used a high flow cat and it was very deep and VERY LOUD (I had a friend drive my car through some backroads and it was VERY audible from about 3/4 to a mile away). On my cammed B18B it sounded awesome. The silencer helps with the noise but it makes it sound buzzy. It sounds like s*it with a test pipe. Hope this helps!

The exhaust sounds great I just installed mine today. With the silencer the note is deep and just a step or two above stock exhaust as far as volume goes. I just took the silencer out and haven't gotten a run with no silencer so I'll post when I figure it out, and if I can get a hold of a video camera I can put some vid/soundclips as well.

A lot of people look for Apexi N1 but here's something to think about. With my old Accord I ordered a Tsudo N1 style cat back exhuast and compared it to my friends Apexi N1 exhuast. They were relatively the same. The Tsudo cost about $100 less than the Apexi, which produced similar results.

my bf has an n1 on his gsr and it's so annoying sometimes. i can hear him a mile away from my house, i swear...and i hate driving behind him. but if you like it, go for it...but the n1 gets annoying after awhile imo

the n1 is ******* sweet. a nice, deep, throaty tone that rumbles and screams as you go up. the silencer reduces the noise SIGNIFICANTLY (i'm talking it sounds quieter than my chambered GReddy SP) if you need it.

i highly recommend it, my only beef is that the cannister hangs a little lower than i'd like (for a 4door at least).

word to that, even at idle it's pretty damn quiet (quieter than my SP was at idle, even without silencer!).

if you gun it, yeah it'll be loud. if you want to be discreet, you still can.

Loud as **** N/A.....Until I went boost I didnt appreciate its beauty.

I had a greddy sp2 so it seemed hella louder.

The silencer will only make the sound more buzzy and ****-like.Therefore its ineffective.

A good place to buy the exhaust is.. http://www.modacar.com/product...DACAB/

$439.

For the test pipe..
http://www.kteller.com/store/i...3_249

$55-75 depending on which one you get.

I bought the N/A Apex'i N1 muffler and took it to a shop and had them weld on the piping and take out the resonator and I love it. I guess it's pretty loud, but i've heard louder exhausts before. Loudness all depends on the person, one might be sensitive to noise and say that something is really loud and another might think it's quiet.

it's the same for the 2 doors too. well, atleast on mine, anyway. about to have to buy a new exhaust because the muffler is separating from the rest of the piping.

I jacked the silencer out last night and I've been driving it around all day, and unless I'm full throttly above 5k I can't even hear it above my music, and I don't even have a system, so it's definitely not too loud. It's a lot quieter than it was on my DSM. I love it, and I repeat it's definitely not loud/too loud/whatever even with the silencer out.
