if you only had a certain amount of money which would you get: jdm itr tranny or header?
I'm still deciding on whether to get a jdm itr tranny (4.7fd and lsd) or a header (rmf dtr smsp etc), however i'm not sure which one to get. I currently have a b16 tranny but i hear the 4.7 fd and the lsd is a night and day difference compared to the 4.4fd and no lsd. I use to own a dtr header however i sold it to go turbo and now i'm back to all motor.
so between the two which one would you get?
a header or a jdm itr tranny?

If you have another header to put on the car in the meanwhile, I would do tranny.
if i was going to get a tranny i was probably just going to buy a cheap jdm itr 4-1 header since i couldn't afford a rmf header haha. but right now i'm running a gsr manifold since i got a for free so anything would be better than that haha

well i would also have to get a lsd, and i figured the cost of a fd kit and a lsd is almost the same price as a used jdm itr tranny.

honda lsds are like 350, an fd can be more than 200, and a used header, like 500. then pay 200 for install on the tranny stuff and youve got 1250 into it.

Then hit up ebay and get one of those megan 2.5" collector headers for 199$, not bad for the money, and they are very well made!

I would concentrate on emphasizing the powerband you want at a certain rpm. That would call first for a custom header or a predesigned one that is closely calculated for your setup. If there is more power to be found even with stock cams, i would go that route first.
The trans will make you quicker than the header and make your car more fun to drive as well--do the important stuff first. Its a no brainer--trans. Plus you get the LSD. In addition you can sell your original trans for more than you could sell a shitty header for.
