head swap on 90 dx (d15b2) to p08 head?
yeh, so i found an almost complete head (in decent condition)without a valve cover, and it has p08 stamped on it. it is apparently off a d15x, where x can be a couple different alphabetic characters. (head was prolly left after someone did a mini-me ? on their EG)anyway, i have my trusty dailydriver 90 dx hatch with a stock d15b2 that has 225K on it. it has recently started taking a couple more revolutions to start sometimes, and i smell a burnt oil kind of smell after i drive it for any distance, so a slight overhaul is probably in order. so i figure i can overhaul the p08 head and swap it onto the d15b2 block. hopefully the bottom end is in good shape, so how will the p08 match up to the block? i am not interested in making more power, just a dependable dailydriver.
thanks for any help.
thanks for any help.
It'll work, the head is the same casting as yours if it is the head off a D15B7. The only difference I can see being the cam and it will be minute.
