so after the car quits smoking i see i 3" egg shaped hole in the block directly below the exhaust manifold, when i pulled the dipstick out it had a 90 degree bend in it and i could here it rattleing things in the engine!!!!! I am the most amature mechanic in the world but i think its a connecting rod or somthing , going to tear the motor down today will post pics, also do you think i can disassemble this motor which is a d16a6 with a shop manuel from a d16y8? just curious if the procedure would be the same.

 

Yup, you puked a rod!

**edit** the shop manual will be fine, but be sure to get accurate torque specs for the various bolts, as they are sure to be different.
