I think i broke it...
Hi all, just new and unfortunately i have a major problem with my teg...
I was driving along and next i notice this loud knocking coming from the engine, i pull in and i thought a piston was going to fly through the bonnet so i turned the engine off.
I think its the camshaft, if it is can it be replaced or is it new engine time?
I have a 1995 Jap import honda integra ZX
Its got a ZC (1.6 dual carb) engine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Piston and camshaft are totally different things. What type of noise is it? Did it loose any power? was it smoking? did it over heat?
The cam shaft should not have any problems. I have heard of some aftermart cams breaking, but i have never heard of a stock one breaking.
Get a compression test done and see what the results are.

Thanks for your reply. I didnt notice any power loss or smoke. The temp was fine and no warning lights came on. It is a very loud knocking from inside the engine, the engine shakes around when running, that coupled with the noise is scary and you just have to turn off the engine before it explodes!! Its just like a large piece of metal is being bounced around the inside of the block!
Yeah that was what i thought it was at first. That would have scraped the inside of the block so would have to be boared out or replaced....
I sourced a new engine, just have to get it looked at...
