sell the crx?????? what do you think?
This is probably not the best place to ask this, but what do you think I can get for my crx??? And where do you think the best place to sell it would be???? I am thinking of buying a 95 240 and doing the sr20det swap. Any thoughts? Any major reasons I should keep mine? I just enjoy working on cars, and mine is done except paint job and body kit. I need more!

go 240! they are very fun to drive.
i drove this guys 95 240 with TEIN suspension and Nismo braces. i've wanted one ever since
he ran a 14.9 with bolt ons with his stock KA24.

I also have an S14 ( stock except for K&N ) but it isn't nearly as much fun to drive as my Si . Its a great touring car and IMO its one of the nicest looking cars thats been imported ,but its pretty lardy and doesn't have the same giggle factor chucking it around back roads . I've barely driven mine since I got my newest hatch (only driven it 12k since I bought it anyway ) but I still love the way it looks and its a great road car . I'm planning on tuning mine when its paid for this May , although I'm looking at doing a KA24DET instead of the swap route .
Should add , even with stock suspension , its great through fast sweepers but I like super twisty , tight backroads better and the Honda does those better . Part of its prolly that I'm less scared of dinging the Civic

what shape is the car in?
My friend bought a 91 B16 CRX for about four grand and it was a straight car. B16 rexes are a dime a dozen here.
They weren't when I started sourcing parts for my swap back then

keep the rex and go ls or b20. if you have been driving your rex for a while no other car will feel like home as much as a crx can.
can I ask why you say keep the rex and go ls or b20??? I hope you mean ls/vtec or b20/vtec cause if you are saying to just swap out my b16 for those engines, it would be a huge waste of money!!!!
Anyway, thanks for the replys so far guys. Its kinda helping me decide, just still not sure and I don't know how I am going to decide. I wish I could have both, but I am just a college kid, and dont have the money for that.
and the car is in PRESTINE condition!!!! There is a nice scratch on the driver door, but if you put a body kit on with door caps, it would be covered right up. And its the original yellow paint, so if you want it to look REALLY good, I would suggest a paint job anyway.

hybrid,
i know how you feel. i've got an 88 crx si that i've been thinking of parting with. i think that we both would be happier with a newer car - plus you will have a new feeling to modding it up and that's what we love to do - the crx is just getting a bit old and tired.
anyways...let us know what you decide...

ah yes, the expensive aftermarket point. BUT, in this scenario lets think about that. If I have an sr20det and lets say I want to upgrade my exaust. Lets even exagerate and say that is gonna cost a grand, maybe a little more, my tanabe RM cost almost 500 bucks. So you say, there you go twice as much - that hurts the 'ol wallet. True, but what about performance gains????? I got maybe 5 hp out of my exaust. do you think I could gain 10 hp on the sr20 engine? I think so probably more, soo....for twice the money, you get twice the power(probably more). So its really not bad if you think about it.
I think ruiner17 hit the nail on the head. its about building it up, starting from scratch and being all giddy about your new exaust or wheels or what have you arriving at your door step anyday. Plus the fact that the car would be newer is also a good point. Having a 1990 car is not always the greatest.

Really??? The Sivlia and 240sx(180sx in japan) haz a **** load of parts. a lot more than the civics and crx since its one of the hottest cars in Japan (Japan iz in a Drifting Boom due to some sad *** anime). Bunch of parts are comming out constantly, and its a fun car to drive in. It could create lotsa hp (dunno about the us engine, but the sr20det iz a nice engine.), and the handling iz pretty good. I would go with the 240sx. I love that car. Sr20det iz easy to get since everyone crashes that car. You could get a decent sr20det around 1000bucks. anyway, i disagree with the costing more part. and i think its a fun car to drive in
go for it!
go for it!
Its where you get the parts that makes the price cheaper
if you have anyone that can understand Japanese, parts are hella cheap and easy to get. especially the 180,silvia parts.
