Default Instrument cluster fuse keeps blowing!! WTF? NO tail lights too @ night!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Well I was taking my girlfriend home last night, and all of a sudden my gauge cluster bulbs go out. Im like O CRAP! Then I pull over, and realize my tail lights are not on "running mode" at night like they should be.
Well I get my gf to tap the brakes, and they lights up when tapped.
I replaced teh fuse that was blown. its a 10A, it blew that the second I turned on the lights. I put a 3rd one in it did the same. THen I put a 15a in there and it blew that instantly.

What can i do? Anyone had this problem before.
thanks in advance for telling me to "check my grounds" but thats like retarded. How do you do that. What grounds, what wires. ECT. PLease dont tell me to check my grounds unless you can specify where i need to look, and what to look for. Im sorry to sound rude, but i took it to 3 places today and thats all they could say to me.

NEED HELP ASAP!, I cant drive @ night untill this is fixed. and I have to pick up my gf tommorow night.
thanks guys

check every bulb to see if they are bad, there is a ground you could check by taking off the rear panel which covers the taillights.

buy a helms

well since you said you were aware of it, then you should also be aware if not made to be aware that the reason why you're checking grounds is because of a short, BUT....here's the kicker that makes it a pain in the ***.....you really can't specify where to look. Here's why: We all know that there's a bunch of wires wrapped up together in a harness underneath your dash. If at anytime there was a pinch somewhere in along the lines, the short can jump from wire to wire and affect other systems ( like the guy said with his stereo ). And...it doesn't necessarily involve ground wires. So basically, not only would you have to find the source of the problem, but for good measure to make sure nothing else goes wrong, you'd have to check and DOUBLE check for any other signs that another problem could arise if you don't take care of it while you can. It could be the power wire, or the constant/ accessory wire. You ask...how do you go about finding it....well...you have a multimeter and whole lotta patience? If not, then do you have a lot of money to pay someone to do that? It is also probably why those 3 places told you to check it yourself because they were trying to save you some money and or....them being lazy and not wanting to go through every wire in your car Problems like these aren't solved easily although most of the time....its really something so simple that we end up kicking ourselves in the tail when we find out what it is. I'm just speaking from experience...that's all. I've gone through several electrical nightmares, and spent a LOT of time hunting them down.

One time, I forgot to connect my front turn signals to the housing and I drove off with the bulbs dragging across the road. Tried turning on my lights that night and got no instrument cluster lighting, no exterior lights, nothing. Luckily, my problem was easily solved.

Check the exterior lighting wires as well as the interior.
