Default Drag Radials or Traction Bars

I'm running in a "King Of The Street" 1/8th mile drag competition in about a week and a half. My 60' times are shitty in the 1/4 so I know that it will kill me in the 1/8th. I'm running 2.25-2.27 with Azenis (yes I know they are not drag tires but at least they have fairly sticky rubber).

So, I have enough money to buy one mod before this thing goes down but I got to order quick so I get it in time. I'm looking at either getting the Lcon traction bars, or BFG drag radials. Which do you think would be best to get in my situation and why?

Here is my car and mod list:
97 Integra RS
weight- about 2400 without driver
JDM H22a
short ram intake
stock header, dc sports exhaust
Tokico Blue struts in back, Koni yellows front, progress h swap springs
front wheels are fat fives with 205/50/15 azenis, back are 15" heliums with some crappy nittos.
I'm putting in a Zex nitrous kit and I want to run the 75 shot. I have not it in this car at the track though so I have no idea what it will do on the bottle. A 55 shot took about 1.3 sec off my CRX.

And my best 1/4 mile run:
R/T- .128
60 ft- 2.248
1/4- 14.256
MPH- 97.29

My vote is for the Drag radials. If you'll have the nitrous on by then look into the BFG 225/50/15 DR's.

The nitrous is definately going to be on. I hadn't even thought about 225's, I was going to go with 205's if I got them. Will 225's fit ok on the front of a DC? I don't care if they stick outside of the wheel well, but they can't rub on the inside.

As long as the car isn't slammed they'll fit fine. The 205's probably won't hold the torque from the 2.2 + nitrous in 2nd gear. Go w/ the 225's you'll most likely produce better 60's w/ them as well. Good luck.

Hmm, my car is lowered about 2" I wonder if that's too low.

Probably not. My car is on Eibach sportlines and they fit fine w/ plenty of room. I'm picking up some 235/60/15's now that'll be interesting

That setup was (It came out due to a spun bearing) B18c1 bottom (SRP11.5:1's, eagle rods) B16 head, GSR cams, To4e (.80/.70) @ 12psi.
Theres a stock LS on 7psi in there right now though

How well will 225's fit on 6" wide wheels? I want to put them on my fat fives, I do have some heliums that are 6.5" but I use those for my everyday tires.

Well, I bought some BFG drag radials. I found a good deal for a pair from a fellow HT member so I bought them. They are only 205/50/15 though, so I'll see how they do and try the 225's next time

Well I'm going to the track tonight to practice with the radials. No nitrous yet, I want to see how much I can improve my all motor time.
What psi should I try the radials at? I've seen posts where people have gone all the way down to like 12, but I'm only pushing 180whp so would that kill my top end?

You'll just have to play w/ the air pressure to find a sweet spot. We run lower than 12psi. FYI. I'd start around 15psi. though if I were you.

traction is your friend. You made a good choice buying the DR's.

Alright cool, I'll try 15 first. I had dropped down to 17 in my azenis on my fastest run last time so 15 in the radials sounds like a good start point. Should I go down in 1 psi increments or what?

Wish I had a freak motor like you Skunked, but I'll give what I have hell!
My buddy is coming to video tape so I should have those up within a couple days.

Heres to not breaking any axels! (I hope!)

1psi increments is optimum. Why are you so scared of breaking axles? It's just an NA h22.

I wasn't really worried about it, but then everyone started telling me I might so it started to get to me.
At any rate I definately had nothing to fear.

I ran the car last night and I sucked. I was running way behind so by the time I got to the track I JUST made the last 1/4 mile group so I got to make one pass. I ran a freaking 14.7! .5 slower than I ran on Azenis a few months ago. So then they did 1/8 mile and I got two runs in, both 9.3 I trapped at 94.5 when I did the 14.7 and at 76 for the two 9.3's.
My best 60' of the night was a stellar 2.20

Don't worry though I have a million excuses:
1) Forgot my JDM OBD1 P13 so I had to use my USDM OBD2 ECU and I'm not sure that the car runs as well on it. It seems fine on the street but it is meant to run 290cc injectors not 340cc's, plus I bet it has less timing than the JDM one.

2) The radials were brand new. Maybe that doesn't matter, I don't know, but they had zero miles on them when I made my first pass.

3) I couldn't drive to save my life. I was trying to launch between 5.5-6k but when I started to engage the clutch I just floored it and ended up dumping and spinning the **** out of the tires.

4) I suck at burnouts so I'm not sure I got the tires heated enough.

5) I ran the first two times at 20psi in the tires which was way too much. The last time I did 15psi and I dropped a tenth even with a shitty launch.

6) I bounced off the limiter in first once and second twice, and almost missed third on the last run.

7) I didn't keep the gas down while shifting, and I really think I should because I lose a lot of revs in between because of my flywheel.

8) I just in general really sucked last night.

OK sob story over. I'm going to learn how to drive again and I'll come back with some 13 sec passes next time.

15 is way too much? So what like maybe 12? I found out though that the track was in pretty shitty condition. Some really fast dsms from the area that normally get 1.65 and lower 60's were getting 2.0's.

Or less. I run between 8-9 psi. What rpm are you launching at?

8-9psi? Aren't you running full slicks though? I was trying to launch at 5500-6000 but I was kinda tweaking out and when my clutch started to grab I was going like 7000. I usually don't suck that bad but whatever I guess.
