CD Player is humming obnoxiously
I just installed a turbo timer in my intergra and now whenever i listen to a CD, there is a humming noise coming from it. It only does this at idle, when i give it a lil gas the humming goes away. Do you think that the new wires are causing some sort of interference or my CD player is just shot. I did splice a wire into the vehicle speed sensor, could that have done something?
im no expert, but this sounds like the "alternator whine" etc... noise... essencially grounding issues... look/seach (online and on HT) up that stuff, and see if it helps... I am 99% sure that is it, how to fix it exactly, only you can determine since you know the wiring, and the car. Test out the theories and suggestions you find, and see if it works.

so its more of a bad ground or the RCA's getting to close to power wire? Could it still have to do w/ the recent turbo timer install?

If wired properly, it should have no effect at all, as it is off unless its being used.
A few questions.... does the T/T share any wiring with the HU, are the RCAs in any way running by, across, over, under, around or through any of the T/T wiring, or visa versa? A wire from what, did you wire into the speed sensor?
CooblueDAB is correct, alt. whine and other noises are almost always caused by ground loops, [poor or improper grounding] although by your explanation......

You say "coming from it", by "it" do you mean the CD player, or do you mean "it" the speakers? If it's the speakers, and it is alt. whine, it would be a high pitched sound like a whistle that would get louder as you load up on the alt. [turn on the lights, high beams, rear window defog, step on the brakes and so on] and would change in pitch, [not go away] when you give it "a lil gas". It would also be there when listening to the am/fm, although may be easier to hear when playing the CD.
If the noise is only there when you play the CD, I would say there is a grounding problem in the CD section of the HU
