Problem Pulling Engine..
Ok so far we got the CVs pulled the motor mounts off and all electrical and hoses are pulled as well. When we hoist the engine up there is no clearance room for the tranny even if the hoist is angeled. We tried pulling it off but again there is no clearance for anything. Any suggestions for pulling engine with tranny still intact?
raise the car.. and lower the engine out of the engine bay..
it should drop right out.. make sure the shifter linkage is taken off...
the exhaust manifold is off.. .all the bolts on the rear motor mount are off

The alternator should not have to come off. From watching my friend pull many Honda engines (WykidEG6 here on H/T), I believe he hoists the engine so that the passenger side mount raises first, then the driver side mount second (so the engine comes out tilting down towards the driver side). Shoot him an e-mail, I'm sure he can help you out, nd_4_spd55@hotmail.com
The tranny isnt comming off that easily. This pull is giving me more problems than any other car Ive ever worked on.. *shrugs*

make sure you have nothing else binding.. like the clucth lines... or the that little consealed bolt on the back motor mount...
double check everything..
also check all the hoses and wires...
I'm assuming the exhaust is all off..

or some blocks of wood and a friend
it is possible to do it yourself..
but it's easier to have friend move the engine and hold it while your under it fearing for your life

The last time I helped my friend pull out a motor from a Civic, he used a leveler that he borrowed from somewhere (first time he had used one), and he ended up bending it.

If you need more clearance you can drop the motor down as far as possible and then remove the underdrive pulley. Take the alternator off. Its a lot easier. You could also remove the driver side motor mount from the motor and the mounting bracket on top of the tranny for extra clearance. Just take stuff off.
