Basically my Uncles daily driver 91 DX that he recently acquired has never had the spark plug wires or plugs replaced since 1991.

The threads on the head for the spark plug welded its self on the spark plug. So I need a new head.

I can acquire a sohc ZC head and it is bare. Can I swap over the DX head internals to the sohc ZC head?

Why swap internals??? Just bolt up the sohc zc head and either keep the DPFI system or convert to MPFI.

 

converting it to MPFI is not an option. its basically an automatic commuter car and MPFI is not neseccary.

Head is bare with just valves.

Also, is there what is blocked off on the ZC head? I know that there is a block off plate for something on there. Is the head casting the same?

 

head casting is different for the carbed ZC, the block off is what is origanally for a fuel pump.

You do not need to swap the internals, put on the ZC head and bolt on the DX intake.. and you should be straight..
