Default T25 turbo questions on GSR

A friend of mine just bought a .50 trim turbo for his eclipse, so he has his old turbo (t25) and injectors left over. He will sell me it for 150 dollars and i have a manifold that i can make for for the setup also..all i really want to know is if this turbo will work on my b18c1 or will it start to crap out in the high RPM range. I knwo this is a small turbo, but i think it might be better than nothing considering over all i would be spending about 500 dollars for everything to make it work..let me know what you guys think, because i am an all motor guy looking to go turbo

I would say that it would crap out real early.. Whats the compression of your motor since you said that you were all motor?

I would say it would work very nice might drop off a bit at high rpms since it does on the eclipse and its a 2.0L. But its also gettn at lease 12psi im sure you will be only wanting maybe 8 9 so i would go for it. And if it does drop off alot you can always upgrade on that same flange the mani is made for (14b,s16g,B16g,T28 ext...) and if its your friend get him to drop the price a bit.

It will be fine up to... Probably about 10 PSI, then it won't flow enough anymore and you will choke your engine.

A turbo should be matched to an engine and power goals, but it is still possible to match the power goals to the engine and turbo.

thanks guys, my b18c1 is totally stock right now, so 10 psi would be pushin it a little i think..i wanna all go up to about 8 psi..how much HP do you think i would be making with this turbo at 8psi with proper tuning
also for tuning, i have a guy who is very good with uberdata, but i havebnt heard many good things about it..in the past i have used hondata s200, what do you guys think the right path would be, thanks in advance for any suggestions/information

PSI means nothing. 8PSI is VERY dangerous on a GSR with a T66 turbo, but 8PSI on a little T25 is going to do nothing harmful if tuned right. I think that turbo is too small, but you can push it's limits to 15PSI or so......again remember PSI doesn't mean it's going to blow up it's Horsepower and the tune you have to worry about. I'm concerned more about your fuel/ignition managment then your PSI

in that case, what is my best bet for fuel managment then? and i would still like a rough estimate of what numbers i could put down

You could probably do like 15-20psi with that turbo on your motor without a problem lol. I think the T25 is too small for my motor, so on your GSR it would be a waste of money to install it. Do it right the first time and get a good sized turbo and don't skimp on the fuel management.

I don't even think it could flow enough to push 20PSI haha
Get at least a T28 or better yet a Straight T3 you'll be happy with that.

Get Hondata/Uberdata/Crome/Neptune. That's your best bet and some are very cheap for what they do. Numbers? ....That's up to you really, what kinda numbers do you want? Anything under 300whp is attainable safely on a stock block (turbos to get there will vary) after that you are pushin the limits and may want to consider building up the bottom end

I would get nothing smaller than a t3/t4 if I had that motor. I think fast spooling turbos suck ***.

The only GSR that I ever saw with that turbo made 200 whp and 160 wtq at 6.5 psi (skunk2 mani, 2.25 exh, too big FMIC). I agree with beer bongs about the sizing though for that motor. But hey, if you got a good deal, and get a good tune, then rock it!!

youd be wasting your money with a t25 and a gsr motor, if anything, you can get a 14b for 150$ of off a dsmer, hit me up for more info.
